Dark Fibre, i.e. unlit glass fibre, is a term for glass fibres that activating equipment has not yet been connected to. The activating equipment is needed to send and receive data through the glass fibre (fibre optics). In other words, without this activating equipment the fibre literally remains unlit, which is why it is known as ‘Dark Fibre’.
What are the possibilities and advantages for your organization? Dark Fibre is the basic platform for a private, future-oriented network. Based on the equipment you have chosen, you can construct a private network that meets all your requirements using existing fibre optic infrastructure.
