Connectivity is the backbone of all modern organisations. This is because data and applications are located off-premises increasingly often; i.e. outside an organisation’s own office or production environment. Safe and responsible access to this data is required in order to work and ensure that the business processes run smoothly. Via Dark Fibre for example; a fibre-optic connection where the user provides the equipment and arranges services.
The advantage of Dark Fibre is that the organisation can either choose a provider (managed Dark Fibre) or take full responsibility for the connection (unmanaged Dark Fibre). In the latter case, the organisation can react flexibly to possible changes and controls all aspects of data management and security. The connection is not shared with other users.
