Relined Fiber Network integrates layer 2 services into its portfolio

Rollout of Ethernet, WDM, and cloud connectivity takes shape both nationally and internationally.

Vianen (NL), october 20th, 2025

Relined Fiber Network is fully integrating the services of its subsidiary NDIX into its own portfolio. This strategic move creates a single, cohesive offering that combines dark fiber connectivity with high-quality Ethernet, WDM, and cloud connectivity solutions for enterprises, hyperscalers, data centers, and others in Northwest Europe.

Internationalization and globalization require scalability and flexibility from ICT facilities in general and data networks in particular. Networks are becoming increasingly intricate and complex. The need for redundancy and failover capability increases this complexity. The market offers numerous solutions, both mature and immature. This in turn creates new challenges in the field of cyber security: “Who and what is involved in my data communication behind the scenes? What paths does my data actually take to get from A to B? What equipment do my providers use, and how secure is it?”

Kristel Landa, CEO Relined Fiber Network: “Third-party risk management and NIS2 compliance are taking on a whole new dimension. We are seeing that large business users want more control over their entire network, partly due to increasing economies of scale, chain integration, and security requirements.”

Relined is meeting this need by further expanding its Dark Fiber network and providing customers with direct access to Layer 2 services and expertise in Ethernet, WDM, and cloud connectivity.

Landa: “With the full integration of NDIX, we can offer our customers not only access to a high-quality fiber optic network, but also smart, managed connectivity solutions. Our focus is now entirely on rolling out our Layer 2 services and expertise, both nationally and internationally. We will continue to press ahead with the further expansion of the Dark Fiber network and our cloud and data center connectivity within the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark. Naturally, we are also looking at other regions.”

“We are moving full steam ahead with the implementation of connectivity solutions and investing in new technologies. We are conducting a number of groundbreaking pilots in this area with customers in the northern regions of the Netherlands.”  Kristel Landa – CEO Relined Fiber Network

Contributing to strategic autonomy

“Relined Fiber Network has its roots largely in the public domain thanks to our unique interconnection of private and (semi-) government networks, including those of TenneT, ProRaill, and BT, as well as players such as GasLINE in Germany and Energinet in Denmark. Plus numerous local and regional network providers in large and smaller business centers in Northwest Europe. Combined with our own network in, for example, Amsterdam. We are well positioned to contribute to strategic autonomy for organizations in both the public domain and beyond,” concludes Landa.

Flexibility and connectivity

OSI Layers 1 (physical connection) and 2 (connection) are integrating. Blended infrastructures are emerging: fiber optics, copper, microwave, radio, satellite.

“Dark fiber is and will remain the backbone of the digital infrastructure, but demand for scalable Layer 2 services such as Ethernet and WDM solutions is growing rapidly. Today’s organizations want more flexibility and direct connectivity between data centers, cloud environments, and regional hubs.”

says Talat Sahin, CCO of Relined Fiber Network.

“By combining our dark fiber infrastructure with Layer 2 services, we offer customers complete control, more bandwidth options, and the ability to switch more quickly in their network architecture.”

Technological developments are also advancing at lightning speed. Sahin: “400 Gb is becoming the new standard. New fiber technologies are in the works, we are conducting the first pilots, and we are only still at the beginning.”
