Relined Fiber Network connects CyrusOne's new sustainable data centre in Amsterdam to fibre network

Relined Fiber Network (Relined) has announced that it is connecting CyrusOne’s brand-new data centre, Amsterdam I, to its dark fibre network, the preferred fibre carrier in the Netherlands. Relined has 30,000 kilometres of high-grade fibre optic infrastructure resulting in nationwide fine-meshed dark fibre networks in both the Netherlands and Germany. Dark or unlit fibre is the foundation of fibre-optic communications used for high-capacity and high-speed networks around the world.

Since the establishment, Relined Fiber Network has been focused on entering into an infrastructure partnership to connect as many carrier-neutral data centres as possible. One such cooperation is with a premier global data centre real estate investment trust (REIT), CyrusOne, which has a significant European portfolio totalling nearly 150 megawatts of operational facilities and sites under development across Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam and Dublin.

As a major European data centre hub, Amsterdam I is critical to CyrusOne’s strategy to expand its colocation presence in Europe,” says Matt Pullen, EVP Managing Director Europe, CyrusOne. “Our partnership with Relined Fiber Network reinforces CyrusOne’s commitment to providing agile and scalable high-capacity connectivity to enterprise customers worldwide, enabling them to extend their existing networks or expand into new markets.”

Sustainable data centre CyrusOne Amsterdam I

CyrusOne Amsterdam I is a brand new purpose-built state-of-the-art data centre campus offering cloud providers, systems integrators, and multinational corporations customised, secure, and resilient data centre solutions within a key business hub.

The facility will ultimately deliver approximately 320,000 sq ft of world-class technical space offering total power of 72 megawatts in two separate buildings, one three-storey building and another two-storey building.

The data centre campus is part of the CATALIST European Green IT innovation project, which focuses on the construction of sustainable data centres.

Located at the Rottepolderplein node in Halfweg, a short distance from both Schiphol Airport and Amsterdam, Amsterdam I will be connected to Relined’s dark fibre network by two routes, offering low redundancy.

Amsterdam metro network

Relined has a dark fibre optic infrastructure in Amsterdam’s metro network, with fixed, attractive rates for data centre connections, high network standards, and delivery times of one to three weeks. CyrusOne Amsterdam I and many other carrier-neutral data centres are connected to this network.
